Reflections from the Circle

Our Spring Equinox Gathering

We recently gathered as a community to honor the turning of the wheel and the arrival of the Spring Equinox. It was a day filled with the simple joys of connection: sharing a bountiful potluck, the rhythmic "thud" of the hacky sack, and the sound of drums echoing into the evening.

But beyond the food and laughter, we gathered for a deeper purpose. As the sun balanced perfectly between day and night, we circled up to acknowledge the natural rhythms we are all a part of. Together, we released the remnants of the old season and named the "seeds" we are planting in our lives for the months to come. letting go of the past and stepping into the future.

The Meeting of North and East

At the Equinox, we stand at the sacred threshold where the North meets the East. This transition carries profound medicine for our lives:

The North Direction: This is the place of frozen lands and the Great Darkness. It represents Winter and the season of Elderhood. As we move through the North, we gain a deeper understanding of how to flow and move with the seasons. The North teaches us that even in our darkest hours, an Elder knows the Light is on the horizon. It is the steady promise that a new day and a new beginning are always just around the corner.
The East Direction: This is where the sun rises—the place of Illumination and Inspiration. As the East awakens, it shines light on all that was once hidden in the dark. It is the energy of Spring: new growth, hopeful excitement, and the power of dreaming our reality into existence.

We give thanks to the North and the East for their gifts and their lessons. We carry the wisdom of the winter and the hope of the spring into everything we do at Pathways.

The Language of Leaves

Location: pathways Community Circle

Before we can heal with the plants, we must first learn how to listen to them. The Language of Leaves is an immersive plant identification class designed to move beyond textbooks and into a lived relationship with the green world.

In this session, we will:

Decipher the Patterns: Learn to recognize the unique signatures, shapes, and growing habits of our local medicinal and edible plants.
The Seasonal Shift: Observe how the "language" of the landscape changes as we transition from the quiet of winter into the waking energy of Spring.
Ethical Wildcrafting: Discuss the protocols of "asking" before we harvest—ensuring our relationship with the Earth is one of reciprocity, not just consumption.
