Georgie grew up in a Native village in Alaska, where living off the land was simply the way of life. her mother and grandmother inspired her to learn plant medicine and gave her the gift of knowing how to make do with what was available.

After completing a 9-month survival course and apprenticeship at Alderleaf Wilderness College she spent over a decade teaching there, and went on to teach at Bastyr University, The Cispus Learning Center, and other wilderness schools and has had the honor of sharing traditional knowledge with various indigenous groups and programs.

Her indigenous traditions are at the core of who she is and what she teaches. She believes that ceremony, reconnecting to the land and aligning with the natural rhythms of this planet are pathways to healing and wholeness. She says survival skills build more than preparedness, but that it also builds confidence, awareness and a deeper connection to life itself.
