Fire can eaisly become the #1 priority! It provides warmth, a way to cook and purify water, and offers emotional support. In this class, we take time to really get to know the structure of a successful fire. You will learn how to build proper fire lays, select the right materials, and keep a fire alive in challenging, wet conditions.  we will also explore and practice traditional and primitive techniques including friction fire.

Food is your last priority in a survival situation and knowing what you can eat in the wild is super important. But knowing plants is for more than just food. you can also use them to make tools, and other necessary survival items. During this class we will walk the land to identify plants for food, medicine, & utilitarian uses as well as harvest some to use. We will learn how to make cordage from natural fibers, set up a primitive cooking fire pit and cook lunch, as well as craft some useful fireside tools.

Support your health naturally from the inside out. Learn different methods to support your health through nourishing teas, infusions and decoctions as well as explor other ways to incorporate herbals into our everyday life by making cordials . we will go on a plant walk to learn how you can use what is right outside your door.  you will also learn how to process, preserve and use these plants. we will take time to  infuse a plant in oil and get hands-on experience crafting your own soothing herbal salve.

Tinctures, herbal vinegars & Oxymels

in this class we will get out and do a plant walk and focus on making medicine. we will make fire cider oxymel, learn what is involved in making an effective tincuture, infuse vinegars that can be turned into a delicious salad dressing, used to support our health through food and have fun with other oils and how to use them in some fun ways.

come explore the world of making baskets in foundational class. we wil use the amazing cattail to learn the plaiting and compact twining techiniques on a square berry basket.

to take this class the first one is required because we will be learning some more complicated techniques that require the foundation skills. 

we will make a round basket for this class we will add some 3 strand twining and learn some fun techniques to finish off the rim of the basket.
